From the Principal Desk

    The college was established in the year 2001 as DURLABHBHAI RAMJIBHIA PATEL COMMERCE COLLEGE, in Gujarati medium, and was affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. This was a modest beginning. It all started with one division only and a batch of 100 students on 15th August, 2001. In 2004-2005 the college bagged another division of English Medium.

   Today in 2015-16, there are in all 22 divisions, and the strength of students has increased to 2440 app. There were five faculty members in the initial stage of the college and they were known as the "five pandavas" and the foundation pillars of the college. Today there are 29 qualified staff members to guide the students. Total staff members are 43.Any college is known by the strength of its library. The college is proud to have over 10,943 books on various topics. Also there are various magazines and journals available.

    In this fast changing environment, the changes in the education field are inevitable. And to match the requirements and to keep pace with the changing times, the faculty members are in constant endeavor for the same. New techniques in education are being introduced e.g. Power point presentation, seminars, oral presentations etc. To sharpen the skills of students, they are asked to submit their assignments in form of presentations. The faculty members attend the National & International level seminars and also present the papers.

    The new technology is also being put to use for the overall and all-round development of the students. The eminent faculty and experts from other education institutes are also invited to the college so that the students get a better opportunity to learn from them. Various programs like campus interview and career guidance are regularly being conducted. Due to the combined effect of all these endeavors, the college is providing the best of the results in academics.

    College is synonymous with students and students means youth. This youth can be moulded in constructive form. If the students of the college celebrate the Rose day, Hair Style day etc. then they also initiate Swami Vivekanand Jayanti and social reform programmes like Anti-liquor rally, Not to mention, on every college foundation day, the blood donation camp is arranged. In past the students also actively participated with Surat Municipal Corporation in Prevention of Philaria. On the occasion of Narmad Jayanti, the works of Kavi Narmad is recited in his fond memory.

    The students also contributed to the social causes and made their modest contributions for the needy they raised funds to pay for the fees of needier students. In order to bring out the latent talents in the students, the college regularly organizes events like Rakhi making, Teachers day, Mehandi competition, essay competition, Patriotic song competition, Poster making, Rangoli, Antakshari etc. Since last 13 years, the college is also organizing the Inter College elocution competition in the name of Late Sh. Thakorbhai Nathubhai Patel. The management has often shown the graciousness of ignoring the fees of the needier students. The college regularly celebrates the Independence Day and Republic Day and arranges for various cultural programs. College also shines at uni. youth festival.

    The college has also been a front runner when in comes to sports. In a short span of time, the college has won inter college university championship in different sports events. The students have made the college proud by getting selected in the University Cricket team, Chess, Lawn Tennis & Basket Ball, Boxing, Shooting In the past year, college has also organized "A" Zone cricket tournament.

    Our college is known for its Annual day celebrations and also for the winter sports sessions. I take this opportunity to bless all the students. Also I thank and congratulate the staff and the management for their contribution and the kind support. I wish the college all the very best and all success in times to come.

    College alumni gave a message of beti bachao through event of Treasure hunt. Students initiated and celebrated Swachh College Abhiyan.
